Zippaport shirts are shirts designed for kids battling cancer. Our shirts make port access easier with a zipper that opens the shirt in just the right place.  Our vision is to provide a free shirt to every child in Canada who needs one.Â
But what’s a port, and why is this important? Kids who are diagnosed with cancer often have a port-a-cath inserted under their skin, usually in the chest area. The port is accessed with a needle and IV, and chemo is given this way.
The area around the port must be sterile, so if a child is wearing a regular shirt, they generally need to remove it to access the port. If a child is wearing a Zippaport shirt, they need to unzip the port to access it.
Our vision is to distribute these shirts to any brave kid who requires port access.
Please help us make cancer treatments easier for kids. We’re looking for shirt donations, monetary donations and sewing volunteers.
